Authorship Criteria

Authorship Criteria

BISECER (Business Economic Entrepreneurship)

1. General Authorship Guidelines

BISECER (Business Economic Entrepreneurship) implements an authorship policy to ensure that every individual listed as an author has made a verifiable scientific contribution. Authorship reflects intellectual contributions to the research and preparation of the scientific work, not merely academic rank, organizational position, institutional affiliation, or administrative support.

The determination of authorship must be conducted transparently, fairly, and agreed upon by all contributing parties. All authors are responsible for the integrity of the submitted and published articles.

2. Authorship Requirements

Individuals listed as authors must meet all of the following criteria:

  1. Make a substantial contribution to the conception or design of the research, data collection, analysis, or interpretation of the research results.

  2. Be involved in drafting the manuscript or making critical revisions to its scientific content.

  3. Approve the final version of the manuscript to be published.

  4. Be willing to take responsibility for the integrity of the work and assist in resolving questions regarding the accuracy or validity of any part of the research.

Individuals who provide only funding support, research facilities, administrative assistance, proofreading, or general supervision without meeting the criteria for authorship are not automatically entitled to be listed as authors. Such contributions may be acknowledged in the acknowledgments section with the consent of the relevant parties.

3. Author Contributions and Order

Each author must provide accurate information regarding their contributions. BISECER encourages the use of the Contributor Roles Taxonomy (CRediT), including conceptualization, methodology, investigation, data curation, formal analysis, writing—original draft, writing—review and editing, supervision, and funding acquisition.

The order of authors is determined by mutual agreement among all authors and based on their academic contributions. The journal does not determine the order of authors based on academic degrees, titles, seniority, or institutional status.

4. Corresponding Author

The corresponding author is responsible for:

  1. Submitting the article through the OJS system.

  2. Ensuring that all authors have given their approval for the submission of the manuscript.

  3. Communicating information regarding the review process, revisions, and editorial decisions to all authors.

  4. Ensuring the accuracy of authors’ identities, affiliations, email addresses, and article metadata.

  5. Coordinating the resolution of issues related to research integrity before and after publication.

The corresponding author is not the sole party responsible for the quality and integrity of the article. This responsibility rests with all authors in proportion to their contributions.

5. Changes to Authorship

Requests to add, remove, or change the order of authors after an article has been submitted must be submitted in writing to the editor, accompanied by a valid justification and the approval of all relevant authors.

Changes to authorship after an article has been published may only be made through the appropriate editorial procedures, including the publication of a correction notice if necessary.

6. Prohibited Authorship Practices

BISECER does not accept the following practices:

  • Gift or honorary authorship: listing an individual as an author without a scientific contribution that meets the criteria.

  • Ghost authorship: failing to list individuals who actually meet the criteria as authors.

  • Authorship manipulation: unlawfully altering the author order for specific purposes.

  • Misrepresentation of an author’s identity, affiliation, or contributions.

Alleged violations of authorship will be addressed through a clarification and review process based on the journal’s publication ethics policy and the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

7. Use of Artificial Intelligence Technology

Generative artificial intelligence tools may not be listed as authors because they do not meet the requirements for academic accountability. Authors remain responsible for all material generated or assisted by such tools.

The use of artificial intelligence that substantially influences the research design or analysis process must be transparently disclosed in accordance with the journal’s guidelines.

This policy applies to all manuscripts submitted to BISECER (Business Economic Entrepreneurship).
