Pendidikan Tolerasi Al-Ghazali Dalam Melawan Tindak Kekerasan Di Indonesia

Abstract


Tindak kekerasan bukanlah fenomena baru di Indonesia. Orde Baru memobilisasi preman dan geng pemuda untuk menyerang komunis dan kemudian mensponsori mereka masuk ke organisasi seperti Pemuda Pancasila. Setiap tahun, catatan tindak kekerasan menunjukkan kecenderungan untuk memecahkan rekor sebelumnya dengan impunitas. Badan-badan anti-tindak kekerasan belum berhasil mengidentifikasi motif pelakunya secara akurat. Lebih jauh lagi, budaya akhlaq dan konteks kelembagaan yang akan menjadikan tindak kekerasan sebagai sesuatu yang dibenci, dihindari, tidak menarik dan tidak menguntungkan belum dikembangkan. Budaya akhlaq seperti itu akan membantu dalam membina para pemimpin dan warga negara yang sensitif secara akhlaq dan berkomitmen untuk kemudian mengakui bahwa pemberantasan tindak kekerasan dalam segala bentuknya sebagai tugas mereka yang sah dan terhormat. Artikel  ini membahas masalah tindak kekerasan di Indonesia menggunakan metode filosofis analisis reflektif, evaluasi dan penawaran. Penulis berpendapat bahwa pandangan Imam al-Ghazali tentang toleransi  sangat kurang dimanfaatkan. Pandangan toleransi dengan referensi untuk memerangi tindak kekerasan, dipahami sebagai terdiri dari tiga elemen yaitu: intlektual (kesadaran), sosial (sensitivitas) dan spiritual (komitmen untuk bertindak). Makalah ini mengusulkan bagaimana pandangan toleransi al-Ghazali dapat dipromosikan dan kemungkinan menjawab tantangan yang harus dihadapi dalam proses di tingkat individu dan masyarakat menuju Indonesia yang berkeadilan sosial bagi seluruh rakyat Indonesia dengan budaya perdamaian.

 

 

 

Violence is not a new phenomenon in Indonesia. The New Order mobilized thugs and youth gangs to attack the communists and then sponsored their entry into organizations such as Pancasila Youth. Every year, records of acts of violence show a tendency to break previous records with impunity. Anti-violence agencies have not been able to accurately identify the motives of the perpetrators. Furthermore, a culture of morality and an institutional context that would make violence something to be despised, avoided, unattractive and unprofitable has not yet been developed. Such a culture of morality will help in cultivating leaders and citizens who are morally sensitive and committed to recognizing the eradication of violence in all its forms as their legitimate and honorable duty. This article discusses the problem of acts of violence in Indonesia using the philosophical method of reflective analysis, evaluation and offering. The author argues that Imam al-Ghazali's views on tolerance have been grossly underused. The view of tolerance with reference to combating acts of violence, is understood as consisting of three elements namely: intellectual (awareness), social (sensitivity) and spiritual (commitment to action). This paper proposes how al-Ghazali's view of tolerance can be promoted and possibly respond to challenges that must be faced in the process at the individual and community levels towards an Indonesia that is socially just for all Indonesian people with a culture of peace.
